It has now been a year of struggling with stomach issues. After reading 5-6 books about healing the gut, healthy digestion, and food allergies, it became clear that all of them had one thing in common: a 2-3 week cleanse. The most friendly one came from the Clean Program by Dr. Junger. The main premise is to subtract common food allergy, processed and problem foods from your diet to let your system 'reset'. I am hoping that this will help my GI system to heal.
The foods to be eliminated: gluten (breads, pasta, cookies, crackers), caffeine, sodas, sugar, chocolate, corn, rice, soy, tomatoes, onions, oranges, grapes, bananas, fruit juices, diary, eggs, yogurt, red meat alcohol, condiments, processed foods, soups.
The foods that are OK: vegetables, berries, herbs, roughage, quinoa, buckwheat, beans, lentils, avocados, olive oil, spices, nuts, chicken, turkey, fish: whole and raw foods.
The 21 day cleanse will start tomorrow. Clean smoothie for breakfast and dinner, and a salad or raw foods for lunch. It will take extra time in the morning to prepare, but the good part is that dinner will be quick! Next step: recipes and menu!
